Rain Finally Falls in Berau
Rain poured down on Berau Regency, East Kalimantan, on Wednesday (September 9, 2026). The rain fell for about an hour, starting just before sunset—around 6:00 p.m.—until this article was written at 7:00 p.m. WITA. According to a local food stall owner, it had been about two months since the Tanjung Redeb area and its surroundings had received any rain. An airport taxi driver expressed deep gratitude that the rain fell evenly, from Tanjung Redeb all the way to the Kalimarau airport area. “It’s good for clearing the smog,” he said. Earlier that day, the Kalimarau Meteorological Station reported that Berau had recorded the hottest temperature in Indonesia. The daytime temperature reached 37.8 degrees Celsius.
